Little Buckeye Children’s Museum
Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is a hands-on, play-based children’s museum located half-way between Cleveland and Columbus in Mansfield, OH. With nearly 40 different interactive exhibits, Little Buckeye is an ideal destination for family and school visits by children ages 2-10 years.
Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and was founded in April 2011 in the heart of Downtown Mansfield. Construction began the previous year and thanks to thousands of volunteer hours, along with donations from the businesses and individuals within our community, we became a reality!
At Little Buckeye, we understand that exploration and play are critical to child development. We know that play benefits children socially, emotionally and intellectually! We strive to offer the children and families we serve a unique open-ended, self-directed play experience that promotes creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, social skills, motor skills, parent-child interaction and more. Little Buckeye encourages children to express themselves and to explore the world around them in a safe and developmentally-stimulating environment. We also know that not every child gets the opportunity to play in that kind of environment.
Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is proud to provide that opportunity.
Our museum features exhibits that support real-life experiences that many children are already familiar with, allowing them to further explore the world around them. Children and families can shop for groceries in the Little Stoodt’s Market, go for a check-up at the Doctor’s Office, perform on stage at the Little Renaissance Theatre, be a teacher in Schoolhouse and much more!
